Good Morning Happy Scrappers!!!!  It's been a long time that we have blogged and I apologize.  It seems the months have just flown by this summer.  Cindy and I both were preparing our first born for college.  I'm not sure if we were preparing them or ourselves.  But no matter what, it is definitely a new journey we have all embarked on.

There has been some fun stuff going on at The Bee.  Hopefully everyone received the email about our new announcement.  If not, it read as follows:

NEWSFLASH!!!!
Announcing The Scrappin' Bee's
Consignment Corner

We all have Scrapbooking supplies, rubber stamps carrying bags and all kinds of "stuff" that we are not using any longer or just don't like.  Why not sell it at The Scrappin Bee's Consignment Corner.  It's a great way to find a new scrapbooking or stamping home for your supplies while making money at the same time.  This is how it works, you drop off your consignment items already priced with your initials somewhere on the price tag, we will try and sell your items for 30 days.  If we sell it within 30 days, we will give you 60% of the selling price.  It's that simple.  The better the price, the faster the sell.  This is not only a great opportunity for sellers but for buyers as well.  We are hoping to open The Consignment Corner by September 1st.  So please bring in your items for sale as soon as possible.  Also, make sure that all items are cleaned, priced and ready to sell.  Diecut machines, cutters, tools stamps, books ... the ideas are endless.  We do ask that if you have paper, stickers or small items that you put them into bags of multiples.  If you have any questions, please call us at The Beeat 847-599-1292.  We are anxiously awaiting your items and getting The Consignment Corner up and running.

Good luck to everyone during this back-to-school season.  After the little ones get the bus, buzz on over to The Scrappin' Bee and see some of the cool new products we have received including some new personalized school papers, brads and metallic papers.

If you haven't been in  for a while, come on it, we miss you!!

I'm BAAAAACK!!!

Good Morning Scrappin' Bees!!!!  Since no one wrote to ask where we have been, I'm presuming no one is really reading this.  But, I'll keep you posted anyway :0)  This is been an extremely busy and CRAZY couple of months.  Cindy D. and I both has high school graduates and I also had an elementary school graduate.  Between parties, dances, graduation and the buzzing busy bee, this is the first time I've had extra time to check in.

The ATC jams and clubs are still going strong.  We just had a "Special" ATC jam that had a Month theme.  The cards were great, the food was wonderful and the company was extradinary!!!!  If you are a card maker and haven't gotten bitten by the ATC Bug, you are MISSING OUT!!!!  Come on in and ask about details.

Our bus tour to the store was lots of fun.  Laura from BugAWumps did a GREAT job.  Her stamps are sooooo unique and adorable.  We are running a catalog sale right now until the end of July.  We have a couple of her catalogs in the store if you'd like to place and order and receive 20% off, come in the store and with 50% down, you can order any stamps that you love.

We are getting ready to attend the CHA show in Chicago this weekend.  We are in search of some new products to bring to our customers.  If you have heard of anything new you want us to look at, give us a quick email and we'll do our best.  We are trying very hard to keep the Bee buzzing.  As you know, so many small stores are closing.  The manufacturers are not prone to helping the mom and pop shops so we have to count on our customers for that.  Most of the manufacturers have extremely high opening orders and reorders that make it hard for us to do business with them.  For this reason, we are constantly looking for smaller companies that will work with us and help us stay in business.

Because of the CHA I don't have any NEW products to report on yet but we do have lots of great school, sports and travel products still available including the 3D travel stickers from Reminence that are awesome.

Have a great week.  We'll check in and give you some CHA updates as soon as possible.

Happy Scrappin'!!!!!!!!!

We did wanted to  let everyone know that THE BEE will be on summer hours starting after Memorial Day.  We will be closed on Sundays during June, July and August.  Therefore, the ATC Jam dates have been changed to June 28th, July 19th and August 16th.  These will now be on Saturdays starting at 1pm.  Also, we do have a "FUN JAM" started again.  This time the theme is Months.  Please either call the store or look on the website for details.  This will be on Friday, July 11th from 6-9pm.  It should be lots and lots of fun.
On the scrappin' trail, everyone seems to be flying through their school spirit books.  We received our new order of page overlays and you won't believe how AWESOME they are.  The Buzz Lightyear is incredible!!!!  Also, lots of graduation and vacation overlays that will make your scrappin' a breeze.  Stop by and see all the designs we received.
Congrats also to all the graduates from this weekend. Good luck on your next journey!!

Good morning Scrappers and CardMakers.  WOW!!!  We have really been buzzing at the Bee.  Everyone is doing such a great job on their school spirit books and I can only imagine how excited your children are going to be when they see the works of art you have created.  A big Congratulations to all the Grayslake Central and Grayslake North graduates on your commencement this weekend.  Especially our special friend, Lindsey!!!!  Good luck to everyone on your next exciting journey.

We have some beautiful 12x12 and 8 1/2 x 11 metallic and pearlized papers that just arrived.  These papers are absolutely gorgeous for your prom pages or graduation invitations.  We have also created some fun 6x6 accordian books which make a great gift for graduates, friends, team members or coaches.  We've made them for full teams as senior gifts and everyone loves them.

Just a quick note to SAVE THE DATE!!!  Saturday, June 14th we will be having a trunk show with Laura from Bug-A-Wumps stamps.  This is a unique opportunity to purchase these stamps since they are not sold in any retail store.  Laura will be doing demonstrations with the stamps and you are SURE to full in love with them.  More details to follow.

Dan & Lindsey and Justin & Ashley and all the Wildcat prom - goers: Be safe, be gorgeous and have a blast at prom!!

Okay, enough of this weather!!!!!  I need some vitamin C Sunshine!!!  Although, it never fails that every time one of my children have gone on the Springfield trip with school, it has been a lousy three days.  Poor kids.  But, and a big but, it is GREAT scrapbooking weather.
Just a quick shout out to Libertyville's baseball and lacrosse teams that kicked butt last night.  Good job.  Especially to Troy Barton on a great pitched game.  I just wish the weather would be alittle better for all the spring sports.  Hopefully the weather is holding off for prom nights, graduations and parties.
Just wanted to give everyone a Save a Date.  Saturday, June 14th we will be having a trunk sale for Bug-a-wumps rubber stamps.  They are just adorable and are NOT sold anywhere in the area except for stamp shows around the midwest.  We feel very flattered that we are the only store chosen to "show-off" these amazing stamps.  So, mark your calendars and don't miss out on this unique opportunity.
Also, our ATC clubs are going strong and more fun than ever.  Call the store for details if you want to start participating in this ever-popular card making extravaganza.  847-599-1292.
School spirit scrappers are still going strong.  Everyone is working so hard on their school albums and they are looking fabulous.  I'm quite sure kids will be as proud and peacocks to show off their books at graduation parties to friends and families.  I know mine will.

Good Morning scrappers one and all.  Looks to be a cruddy day.  Why not come by the store and scrap for a couple of hours.  It's a great way to spend a dreary day - actually doing something creative.  We don't have any classes today so the scrap tables are free, free, free.  We just received some new personalized papers for Woodland, Libertyville, Carmel, Lakes and couple of other schools that are awesome.  We try to stock up but I recommend getting them while you can since our personalized school items seem to fly off the walls this time of year.  We keep replacing things but it takes time.  We have some new "title" or "filler" pages that really help filling in when you only have one or three page layouts.  We like those double page spreads to match!!  Cindy R. finds some really unique and sometimes heart-wrenching poems.  So, check them out if you stop by.  Watching the weather, it looks to be a real "scrapper" of a weekend.  We already have a couple of ladies coming in to work tomorrow morning so why not join them for the day.  Hope to see you soon.

Good Morning Everyone.  I'm including this picture of our cheerleaders on the beach practicing for their performance in the Worlds Competition.  That is ALOT of cheerleaders and I thought you might enjoy seeing what I have been watching for the last couple of months.  Finally my trips around America have ended.  I almost felt like Matt Lauer the last couple weeks.  "Where in the World is Kelly Loucks" hehe.  Since I am so far behind with my scrapping the new page overlays we received are helping me catch up.  They are AWESOME.  Come by and take a peek.

We also have a great ATC card class coming up on May 10th.  It's a designer challenge and it is sure to be tons of fun.  Call the store or stop by for details.  Another upcoming stamp extravaganza is on June 14th.  We will be having a trunk sale from a lovely and fun new stamp company.  Watch for details!!!

I hope everyone is having great luck in their spring sports and getting prepared for graduations, weddings and all the fun stuff the spring and summer bring.

HOLA!!!

Welcome back all Spring Breakers!!!!  My family was able to visit Cancun, Mexico for the second time and had a very relaxing and warm week.  Thanks to United Airlines I had two very smooth flights and actually fly out right when it starting snowing on Friday morning.  Timing is EVERYTHING!!!

Now, time to scrap those vacation pictures.  It's always my favorite part of the vacation :0)

It was very slow at the store this week and we are gearing up for the busy school time.  Everyone in a rush to get their scrapbooks done for the ever-popular memory table at graduation parties.  I expect to be very very busy since I have a high school and grade school graduate.

I am getting alittle disappointment and confused to know if anyone is actually reading this blog.  I try to write in it as often as possible but have NEVER received a comment.  Is ANYONE reading?  If so, can you let me know so that I'm not writing in vain.  I'd greatly appreciate it.  If you have comments or suggestions about the store, we would love some feedback.

Thanks a bunch and have a great week.

Calling Wisconsin Customers

We are trying to schedule an all-day scrap in Pleasant Prairie or Kenosha.  We've looked at many hotels and banquet halls.  They are all okay but not anything really great.  I was hoping someone from Wisconsin might have a location that you might think is excellent.  If you know of any place that would work great for us please give us some suggetions.  We are shooting for the second or third Saturday in April so we have to get crackin!!  Thanks in advance for your input.

I hope everyone is enjoying this little bit of a break in the weather.  At least the gloves, hats and scrafs aren't totally necessary.  Now, I'm ready to dump the big winter coats :0)

Is anyone listening?

I'm hoping that people are reading our blog but without any comments, I'm just  guessing you are out there :0)    We've been quite slow this week and I'm presuming it is because everyone is getting ready for the "big" spring break.  I think everyone is looking forward to time off from this weather and cabin fever.  If you are not going away for spring break, we will be open all week.  Take a day off and come in and work on your albums.  We always have someone there willing to help you out.   If you are going to Disney for spring break, we are definitely the store for you.  We have received some really different overlays that make your scrapping easy and different.  Stock up now before they are all gone.  We've already reordered some that sold out right away including an adorable Spiderman overlay that the detail was incredible.  Hopefully we'll be getting that order in before spring break.  If not, it will be shortly after.

Good luck to all the kids participating in spring sports.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate with any outside games, meets or matchs.  My daughter runs track and oh boy that April 1st outside meet will be brutal if the weather doesn't take a major turn.  Luckily we have three indoor meets before that.  Don't forget we carry products for most unique sports like track, lacrosse and golf to name a few.

Have a great week and Happy Scrappin'

Warm Weather is Coming!!!

So far the outlook is good for next week.  Let's everyone hope for lots and lots of sun for next week.  Just wanted to let you know that Nancy is running an ATC card technique class tomorrow, Saturday, March 8th from 11-1pm.  There are only two openings right now so if you are interested in taking this class call the store right away at 847-599-1292.  The cards are very fun and use lots of different techniques.  ATC's are the hottest new trend in the card making industry.  If you haven't participated in any of the clubs, jams or trading yet, you are missing an awesome good time.  Call us if you have any questions regarding this new wave of card making.

Spring sports are in full swing now and we have stocked up on all our sports embellishments and papers.  We are also working on some new "school" products and are ready for anyone to begin that high school or middle school graduation scrapbook.  If you haven't been in lately, come by and check out some of the new products.  Buzz on by the Bee!!!!

Hello Sun!!!!!

Thanks to everyone that participated in our Leap Year Sale.  Look for the 29% off on the 29th again in four years :0)  Things were really buzzing at the Bee yesterday.  Great customers having fun working on their ATC Cards, people scrappin' and lots of chit chat.  We admit, we have some of the BEST customers at the Bee!!!!  We received some awesome 12x12 page overlays this week which include a really cool Batman overlay, lots of Disney overlays and some vacation ones that are just out of this world.  These are definitely going to go fast so stop by this week and check them out.  We've already sold out of the Spiderman overlay and are selling the Easter ones like crazy.  We also received just yesterday some Libertyville Wildcat and Warren Blue Devil charms.  The are unbelievable.  Not only will they be great on pages to give them that extra personalized look but I'm thinking graduation cards, invitations and what a GREAT idea to use on your garter or flowers as a prom keepsake.  These will definitely go fast so ask to see them when you stop by.  This source is also working on Carmel, Grayslake North and Central charms so we can't wait to get those.

What a beautiful day finally.  Although, I'm reorganizing my scrap room in my basement so I don't think I'll see much of the day today.  Everyone have a great week.

HAPPY LEAP YEAR DAY!!!

Happy February 29th to everyone.  Hopefully everyone got our email about our BIG sale today.  If you didn't, I apologize.  I did have alittle bit of a problem with a couple of the emails and I'm not sure why.  We love ALL our customers and would never want to leave anyone out.  Just so everyone knows, the sale today is 29% on the 29th!!!!  That's right, 29% off your entire purchase (with a couple of minimal exceptions).  We'll also have extended hours today from 9:00 am until 8:oo pm to make sure everyone can take advantage of this sale.  We hope to see ALL our wonderful customers some time today.

Have a great weekend.  Let's hope for some nice weather and enough of the SNOW!!!!  It was so nice seeing the sun the other day.  I want more!!!  Spring break is right around the corner and that means vacations!!!  Make sure and take alot of pictures.  One tip is to take a couple of extra scenery pictures and then use them to cut out letters for your scrapbooks.  It gives your pages a different look and makes use of those extra pictures.

SALE!!!

Sneak Peek!!!  For all our blog readers:  We are planning a HUGE sale next Friday, February 29th!!  Watch for an email and an announcement on this blog and the website.  Hopefully this will help with your winter blues.  To everyone having their turnabout this weekend: have fun and be safe.  If you give us your theme, we'll have some special headers pre-made and ready for your school scrapping.  So far, we know that Libertyville's is "Under the Sea".  Anyone else?

It looks like our ABC ATC JAM is full.  Thanks to everyone that signed up.  It should be fun, fun, fun.  I can't wait to see everyone's cards.  We're trying to come up with some other different jams for the summer so if you have any ideas, let us know.  The ATC's are definitely the hottest thing in card making.  If you haven't jumped aboard yet, come by the store and we can give you all the information and even show you Cindy R's incredible collection binders.  WOW!!!

I'm BAAACCKKK!!  To Dallas and back.  Two flights and I'm safe and sound.  No offense to Dallas residence but I was not impressed by their city.  I know I was alittle confined to our hotel and the convention center but I couldn't find a scrapbook store ANYWHERE!!!!  Maybe The BEE needs to expand. hehehe.  Our cheerleading teams did great considering this was all the top teams in the Nation.  Some of the things these athletes can do is amazing.  Our team did get a world bid so we will be heading to Orlando in late April.  That's when we will be able to see teams from different countries.  That will be worth the trip :0)  Back to business.  Sounds like the ATC Jam was yet another success.  The ABC ATC JAM is almost full so that should be another fun time.  I can't believe it's almost March and I have yet to finish even one full year of my son's high school book.  I might have to start coming in on my day off (Wednesday) and scrap with all the high school mom scrappers that are diligently coming in once a week to finish.  Maybe next week.  I have to recoup from sitting in those arena seats for two full days.

Have a great week and Happy Scrappin'

Kelly is flying today...not a good mix

Yes, Kelly took the plunge and is flying to Dallas. I assume she made it safe and sound.. I haven't heard anything. ( That's a good thing). Hope everyone's Valentines Day was great. In my house it's just another day. LOL My husband did send me flowers yesterday, he thought I would be off on Thursday. I was so surprised... because it was Kelly's Birthday..( BIg 40 ????) I thought they had the wrong name. Turned out he decided to surprise me.. which he did, because in 25 years we have never celebrated Valentines Day. So it was very sweet of him. ( just wondering if he did something he's sorry for in advance) LMAO!
We now have three customers from out of town that can't live without us :>) Two are in Minn. and the other in Mass. We are so happy word is getting out that we will ship anywhere. So tell your friends or family!
Until next time........Or see you Sunday for the JAM!

Happy Heart Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to all you scrappers and card makers.  Don't forget about the Valentine Day's themed ATC Jam at the store on Sunday.  Since I won't be there, I left plenty of cards this time and they are filled with Love Is... (hint).  We've also sent out an email to all our ATC club and jam members about a special ATC Jam that we are organizing for April 11th in the evening.  It's an A-B-C ATC Jam.  I think this will be just as much if not more fun than the 12 Days of Christmas so if you want to join us that evening, call the store (847-599-1292) and we'll count you in.  We've finally completed our inventory and have ordered some really cool new stuff from company's that allowed us to view their new items from the CHA in California this weekend.  Lots of Disney and new sport stuff.

Also, Happy Birthday (February 12th) to our teacher, Bobbie.  Still 36 and holding :0)

Happy Scrappin'!!

Happy Birthday LISA WILSON!!!! Lisa is having a "scrap" birthday party at The Bee today for her and a couple of her friends and family.  What a fun idea for a 30th(ish) hehehehe Birthday:0) Enjoy the day Lisa and Happy Birthday.

Hope everyone else survived the BIG SNOW.  I'm already working some Snow Day pages but, I have to agree with Cindy D. - I'm DONE with this snow.  Although, it does keep the kids busy sledding, snowboarding, building snow forts and whatever else keeps them outside.  It's when they come inside that the mess begins.  My clothes dryer is really getting a workout these last couple of weeks.  But, I do have some great pictures and I love scrapping winter.

Have a great weekend and Happy Scrappin'!!!

BRRRR

Brrrrr.  Baby it's cold outside.  This to me is great scrappin weather.  I've been cleaning out my scrap room and today kept me inside getting LOTS done.  We also made alot of new school title pre-made pages at the store that are adorable.  We just ordered some fun paper that's called "Say Cheese" that will be great for those pictures that really don't have a theme.  Also some Easter Egg brads that are very colorful.  I wondered if anyone saw the new Doodlebug sparkle collection and if you liked it.  The brads are alittle expensive at $4.99 a package and the paper is $1.99 a sheet.  The glitter on the paper was alittle much for my taste but wondered if anyone else like the line.  Scrappin' Sports came out with some great new sport paper and rub-ons they are announcing at the CHA show in February.  We were able to order early and will let you know as soon as that comes in.  We'll I've got three more school books to complete by May so I MUST get scrappin!!

Bee Creative and Happy Scrappin' for now.

Ok I am letting it out !

I know I shouldn't tell everyone about this, But I can't keep it to myself. A customer Deb J told me about Trader Joes Orange chicken. OMG! It's the best, and it's my sons and all his friends favorite. We had it tonight wow ,was it was wonderful. They must have thought I was nuts when I bought 12 bags, but Kelly wanted three so, that only left us with nine. lol
Nothing to do with scrapping just had to share. And a big Thanks to Deb J . !!!
Any other great finds out there let me know!

Have a Great Weekend

TGIF!!!!  To everyone that might be lucky enough to be going away for a weekend crop, please have a GREAT time.  We've been busy little bees doing all our inventory counts and appreciate everyone that took advantage of our "We Don't Want to Count it Sale."  You help alot.  Hopefully we'll have everything counted by the end of the month so that we can replenish with new items companies are coming out with at the CHA show in early February.  It does seem like alot of scrappers are starting their school books which is a great idea.  The early you start, the less pressure you'll feel towards the end of the year.  We have gotten the word that the theme for Libertyville High School's Turnabout is "Under The Sea".  We'll have items with this theme as soon as possible.  If anyone knows of any other school theme's, please let us know.  I'll be sending out an email to everyone about a request from one of our customers.  She is working with a program called Girls Connected in North Chicago.  It is a program for underprivileged girls that are mostly in high school and are either pregnant or have children.  She is organizing a scrapbook get together for them and is looking for donations.  So, if you have any scrapbooking supplies you'd like to donate, we'll have a box set up at the store.  Any unused stickers, paper, or anything else you might not have a use for will  gladly be accepted.

Everyone have a safe and warm weekend.  Happy Scrappin'

How many new school items?

How many new school items do we have? Alot, and I am always trying to come up with more. Please,Please, if anyone has different ideas, give me a call. We just got in a double page spread with High School Friends on the top and bottom, they were such a hit they are almost gone. But We will get more in right away for those who missed out.
I had someone call from out of town to order pre-made pages for her. For example: Snow, valentines Day, St. Patricks Day and Easter. As I was working on them two other customers saw them and ordered some. We are always working on different pre-made pages, so feel free to stop in and take a look.
How would everyone feel about a contest? I was thinking something along the lines of pets! Everyone loves thier pets. Dogs,Cats, Rabbits ect. We could do a double page spread, bring them into the store and have our customers vote on their favorite. The winner will get a gift certificate, but everyone else will get some great ideas!
Post your comments and let me know, I think it would be fun.
Now on a personal note, I should start our dinnner. We are going to have chicken wrapped in bacon! It's one of my son's favorites.
until next time......... Cindy

Happy Monday to everyone.  I'm back from an exhausting weekend in Indianapolis and ready to get going on my school scrapbooks.  I have one son graduating from high school this year and one son graduating from junior high.  Obviously I have alot of work ahead of me.  I suggest that you also get started now if you want your books ready for a May or June party.  We'd love to help you out.  We have a couple of ladies working on the Carmel High School, Oak Grove School and Libertyville High School books on Wednesday and Thursdays and would love for anyone to join them.  I understand someone is starting a Grayslake album and wants to get started.  It is alot of work but my children LOVE it and so will yours.  They have so much fun showing their friends pictures from 1st grade, 7th grade, freshman year, etc.

Heard the ATC Jam was yet again a success.  I can't wait to see my black and white cards Cindy traded for me.  For some reason, I LOVE black and white photos so I know I'll be crazy for these cards.  Next month's theme is Valentine's Day so come by if you want to trade up some ATC's.

Until later, Happy Scrappin' everyone!

Hey Scrappers, we just got word that the CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) is coming to Chicago March 12th-15th.  I've requested information from them and will let you know when it arrives at the store.  Keep this date open and maybe we can go as a huge group - The Scrappin' Bees (no singing please).  I'll keep you posted.

Kelly

Here's to hoping everyone is able to read our new blog.  This blog is going to be alittle more casual then just a information resource.  If you need a calendar of our classes or other store information, please see our website.  We are looking forward to your comments on the blog so don't hesitate to give us some feedback.  Cindy and I are working hard to give scrapbookers and card-makers new and fun product so we'll let you know when anything new has arrived at the store in this blog.  For you card-makers, we do have a basket filled with Stampscape Stamps and Stampboard on sale for 50% off.  This was an unadvertised special except for on the blog.

Hopefully everyone is having a great start to the new year.  Cindy R. and her new puppy, Buddy, are doing great.  Buddy is an adorable 1-2pound little pincher.  He was sleeping in my apron the other day - LOVE HIM.

Thanks to all the ATC participants at the Christmas ATC Jam.  It was fun, crazy and the 12 days of Christmas cards were fabulous.  The jams do get alittle crazy with all the trading.  I feel like I'm at the New York Stock Exchange with the craziness.  Good luck to everyone that will be attending the Black and White jam this Sunday.  Unfortunately I'll be in Indianapolis with my daughter at a cheerleading competition.  Now that's crazy!!!

Everyone have a nice evening and on Cindy D and Cindy R's behave - GO AMERICAN IDOL :0)
