BRRRR

Brrrrr.  Baby it's cold outside.  This to me is great scrappin weather.  I've been cleaning out my scrap room and today kept me inside getting LOTS done.  We also made alot of new school title pre-made pages at the store that are adorable.  We just ordered some fun paper that's called "Say Cheese" that will be great for those pictures that really don't have a theme.  Also some Easter Egg brads that are very colorful.  I wondered if anyone saw the new Doodlebug sparkle collection and if you liked it.  The brads are alittle expensive at $4.99 a package and the paper is $1.99 a sheet.  The glitter on the paper was alittle much for my taste but wondered if anyone else like the line.  Scrappin' Sports came out with some great new sport paper and rub-ons they are announcing at the CHA show in February.  We were able to order early and will let you know as soon as that comes in.  We'll I've got three more school books to complete by May so I MUST get scrappin!!

Bee Creative and Happy Scrappin' for now.

Ok I am letting it out !

I know I shouldn't tell everyone about this, But I can't keep it to myself. A customer Deb J told me about Trader Joes Orange chicken. OMG! It's the best, and it's my sons and all his friends favorite. We had it tonight wow ,was it was wonderful. They must have thought I was nuts when I bought 12 bags, but Kelly wanted three so, that only left us with nine. lol
Nothing to do with scrapping just had to share. And a big Thanks to Deb J . !!!
Any other great finds out there let me know!

Have a Great Weekend

TGIF!!!!  To everyone that might be lucky enough to be going away for a weekend crop, please have a GREAT time.  We've been busy little bees doing all our inventory counts and appreciate everyone that took advantage of our "We Don't Want to Count it Sale."  You help alot.  Hopefully we'll have everything counted by the end of the month so that we can replenish with new items companies are coming out with at the CHA show in early February.  It does seem like alot of scrappers are starting their school books which is a great idea.  The early you start, the less pressure you'll feel towards the end of the year.  We have gotten the word that the theme for Libertyville High School's Turnabout is "Under The Sea".  We'll have items with this theme as soon as possible.  If anyone knows of any other school theme's, please let us know.  I'll be sending out an email to everyone about a request from one of our customers.  She is working with a program called Girls Connected in North Chicago.  It is a program for underprivileged girls that are mostly in high school and are either pregnant or have children.  She is organizing a scrapbook get together for them and is looking for donations.  So, if you have any scrapbooking supplies you'd like to donate, we'll have a box set up at the store.  Any unused stickers, paper, or anything else you might not have a use for will  gladly be accepted.

Everyone have a safe and warm weekend.  Happy Scrappin'

How many new school items?

How many new school items do we have? Alot, and I am always trying to come up with more. Please,Please, if anyone has different ideas, give me a call. We just got in a double page spread with High School Friends on the top and bottom, they were such a hit they are almost gone. But We will get more in right away for those who missed out.
I had someone call from out of town to order pre-made pages for her. For example: Snow, valentines Day, St. Patricks Day and Easter. As I was working on them two other customers saw them and ordered some. We are always working on different pre-made pages, so feel free to stop in and take a look.
How would everyone feel about a contest? I was thinking something along the lines of pets! Everyone loves thier pets. Dogs,Cats, Rabbits ect. We could do a double page spread, bring them into the store and have our customers vote on their favorite. The winner will get a gift certificate, but everyone else will get some great ideas!
Post your comments and let me know, I think it would be fun.
Now on a personal note, I should start our dinnner. We are going to have chicken wrapped in bacon! It's one of my son's favorites.
until next time......... Cindy

Happy Monday to everyone.  I'm back from an exhausting weekend in Indianapolis and ready to get going on my school scrapbooks.  I have one son graduating from high school this year and one son graduating from junior high.  Obviously I have alot of work ahead of me.  I suggest that you also get started now if you want your books ready for a May or June party.  We'd love to help you out.  We have a couple of ladies working on the Carmel High School, Oak Grove School and Libertyville High School books on Wednesday and Thursdays and would love for anyone to join them.  I understand someone is starting a Grayslake album and wants to get started.  It is alot of work but my children LOVE it and so will yours.  They have so much fun showing their friends pictures from 1st grade, 7th grade, freshman year, etc.

Heard the ATC Jam was yet again a success.  I can't wait to see my black and white cards Cindy traded for me.  For some reason, I LOVE black and white photos so I know I'll be crazy for these cards.  Next month's theme is Valentine's Day so come by if you want to trade up some ATC's.

Until later, Happy Scrappin' everyone!

Hey Scrappers, we just got word that the CKU (Creating Keepsakes University) is coming to Chicago March 12th-15th.  I've requested information from them and will let you know when it arrives at the store.  Keep this date open and maybe we can go as a huge group - The Scrappin' Bees (no singing please).  I'll keep you posted.

Kelly

Here's to hoping everyone is able to read our new blog.  This blog is going to be alittle more casual then just a information resource.  If you need a calendar of our classes or other store information, please see our website.  We are looking forward to your comments on the blog so don't hesitate to give us some feedback.  Cindy and I are working hard to give scrapbookers and card-makers new and fun product so we'll let you know when anything new has arrived at the store in this blog.  For you card-makers, we do have a basket filled with Stampscape Stamps and Stampboard on sale for 50% off.  This was an unadvertised special except for on the blog.

Hopefully everyone is having a great start to the new year.  Cindy R. and her new puppy, Buddy, are doing great.  Buddy is an adorable 1-2pound little pincher.  He was sleeping in my apron the other day - LOVE HIM.

Thanks to all the ATC participants at the Christmas ATC Jam.  It was fun, crazy and the 12 days of Christmas cards were fabulous.  The jams do get alittle crazy with all the trading.  I feel like I'm at the New York Stock Exchange with the craziness.  Good luck to everyone that will be attending the Black and White jam this Sunday.  Unfortunately I'll be in Indianapolis with my daughter at a cheerleading competition.  Now that's crazy!!!

Everyone have a nice evening and on Cindy D and Cindy R's behave - GO AMERICAN IDOL :0)
